About me
Kimberly Cowles is a dedicated Maryland educator with over 33 years of experience as a teacher, coach, and school library media specialist. She holds a BS in Education from Bowie State University, a BA in Montessori Education from Trinity College, and a BS in School Library Media from McDaniel College. An active member of the Maryland Association of School Librarians (MASL), she served as the 2024 MASL Conference Chair, showcasing her leadership and commitment to the profession.
Currently, Ms. Cowles serves as the Education Program Specialist for School Library Media in the Office of Professional Learning and High-Quality Instructional Materials at the Maryland State Department of Education. In this role, she provides guidance, technical support, and professional development for school librarians and administrators across the state.
Passionate about literacy and the development of high-quality school library media programs, Ms. Cowles continues to champion initiatives that empower students and educators. She resides in Frederick, Maryland.
